Just minutes after 0400 hrs. ENGINE Co. 10 was dispatched to 3rd St. and k St. N.E. for a report of trash on fire in the area.  Upon entering the 1000 blk. of 3rd St. N.E. THE DIME discovered that a HOUSE WAS ON FIRE in the 900 blk. of 3rd St. N.E. 

Simultaneously 10 ENGINE was called by Communications and advised to switch to TAC CHANNEL 03 they were FILLING OUT THE BOX FOR A HOUSE.  10 ENGINE discovered a two (2) story, wood frame, End of the Row dwelling with FIRE SHOWING from the Number 1 Floor on Sides A, B and C.  THE DIME quickly advanced an 1.5" attack line and extinguished the first and later second floors.  Due to the volume of fire and the exposure risk a SECOND ALARM was sounded.    This was a good ending to the Tour for the Members of #4 Platoon and a good beginning of the Tour for the Members of #1 Platoon on this mixed crew.
