While most of the Units from the City were tied up on runs, RESCUE SQUAD 3 came across a HOUSE ON FIRE in the 1300 blk. of T St. S.E. A BOX ALARM was filled at the request of SQUAD 3 bringing ENGINE COMPANIES 11 and 21 from quarters, which is crazy; units began clearing their previous calls and bidding on the alarm which put ENGINE Co. 30 1st DUE (THE DIME was stuck on a medical local in Engine Co. 30s area). 13 TRUCK arrived on scene before any Engine Companies going to work venting and assisting SQUAD 3 with rescues. Finally an Engine Company arrived on location and quickly extinguished the blaze. Good work by SQUAD 3 affecting rescues and operating without the protection of a hand line for an extended period of time. A great example of the DCFD Tradition.
