Shortly before 1500 hrs. the vocal came to life with a BOX ALARM for a reported HOUSE ON FIRE in the 1400 blk. of Duncan St. N.E. bringing TRUCK Co. 13 FIRST DUE and ENGINE Co. 10 THIRD DUE.
Units arrived on location of a two story, ordinary construction, middle of the row house with SMOKE SHOWING from the second floor. A fire was located on the second floor and quickly extinguished. TRUCK Co. 13 went to work laddering the building with the Aerial Ladder, 30' and the 24' ground ladders while venting vertically and horizontally and opening up. ENGINE Co. 8 was First Due on the alarm with a member of THE DIME detailed there on the line for the AM of the tour. ENGINE Co. 8 was first due on the alarm because of the relocation of companies again pushing ENGINE Co. 10 out of the first due position. But we are not bitter. Thanks to Battalion Fire Chief Byrne for the images.
